Owls historically were a mysterious creature that was heard at night and rarely seen.Come unravel some of the mysteries of these birds of prey with Ranger Wade Engels as he leads a guided hike and discusses the different species within North Carolina and their habitats.Then explore the owl’s digestive tract by dissecting owl pellets. The hike begins at the Catawba River Area picnic shelter at 9 a.m. Dissecting equipment and gloves will be provided for the owl pellets.
