Everyone is doing their best to remain safe and bend the COVID-19 curve. With that in mind, we want to share a few updates announced over the weekend.
North Carolina State Parks have amended their restrictions and guidelines. In our area, Lake James State Park will be closed. Boat access ramps will remain open. This link takes you to the N.C. State Parks' website. https://www.ncparks.gov/
The U.S. Forest Service announced all campgrounds will be closed today and will reopen on May 15th. Click this link for details. https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/nfsnc/news-events/?cid=FSEPRD713752
The Blue Ridge Parkway roadway is open. The Asheville area visitor center remains closed and the Folk Art Center is closed. When using hiking trails please follow social distancing rules. Hike with a friend instead of a group. Check the Blue Ridge Parkway website for current closures. https://www.blueridgeparkway.org/
On sunny days, consider visiting a hiking trail of waterfall that's off the beaten path. Should you arrive and find crowded conditions, please, choose another location. You'll find options here when you click the "Play" icon. With limited resources, let's remember to practice the "leave no trace" guidelines.
If you have questions, give us a call at 828-668-4282. Employees are on site, however, our visitor center is closed to the public. Work together, stay safe, and we'll see you sooner than later.Share on Twitter Share on Facebook
