N.C. COVID-19 Updates

What an interesting week! The rains have pushed forward, the sun is shining and everyone is excited about spending time outdoors.  First, this link takes you to North Carolna's Health and Human Services website describing the partial re-opening of N.C. businesses.  As you plan your days and visits, use this tool. It identifies businesses allowed to re-open, describes the conditions of re-opening, identifies closed businesses, etc.  https://files.nc.gov/governor/documents/files/Phase-2-FAQ.pdf?fbclid=IwAR0-v_ia0IwbCfHkR6B7jWRedKg4imI00hznwI6RDF1TR67J_yusHj2Np7I

The Blue Ridge Parkway will be busy this weekend.  Bicycle riders, there are no bike lanes on the Parkway. Ride single file and use extreme caution entering blind curves. This link takes you to their real-time closure map. https://www.nps.gov/maps/full.html?mapId=e212fcb5-4ff9-4787-bbe4-3d40cc0d0daa#9/36.3295/-81.2521

Remember, most RESTROOMS are closed, along with visitor centers.  Be prepared, make a plan, and please respect private and public property.  The U.S. Forest Service updates for the Pisgah National Forest are identified here.  https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/nfsnc/recarea/?recid=48954

Last, dining out continues to be different for each restaurant.  Call ahead, click our "Eat" icon for a list of local restaurants. Some continue to offer take out only, others may offer limited indoor dining, practicing social distancing guidelines.  Local taprooms, craft brewers, wineries, etc. continue to offer pick up options.  Check with them for daily specials and updated options.

Stay safe, enjoy this gorgeous weekend and please, be kind.
