At 5:00 pm on Friday, May 8th North Carolina will begin following Phase I of Governor Cooper's re-opening orders. Lodging properties may open now, however, some have postponed opening until later in May. Please, make reservations before heading out. Call your favorite property to learn about their specific policies and procedures.
Restaurants and bars remain closed for indoor dining providing pick up or delivery service only. When Governor Cooper announces plans for Phase II of the re-opening business plan, restaurants and bars will be included.
Phase I opens non-essential retail shops allowing them to function at 50% capacity. The order allows state parks to re-open. We expect the N.C. State Parks to issue a press release on May 7th, announcing the re-opening date as May 9th. Refer to their website for specific details. https://www.ncparks.gov
As of today, the National Park Service and the U.S. Forest Service have not announced plans to re-open their properties. Attractions are also implementing social distancing guidelines, reducing the number of days and hours they will be open, postponing re-opening dates, and limiting the number of guests inside buildings. Call to ask about visitor new guidelines.
