The first day of fall is ushered in with questions about leaf color. The good news, all the rain we've recently received will help to develop great color and the next four weeks will determine the depth of those colors.
Typically, the higher elevations peak around the third weekend of October. These areas include Little Switzerland and Linville Falls. The lower elevations gradually follow until you reach the Lake James, Marion, and Old Fort areas, providing an extended leaf season.
