Are you ready? The ride begins and ends at the Corpening Memorial YMCA in Marion. A 71-mile route through scenic farmland in McDowell County, climbing along Stone Mountain, passing through Chimney Rock and around beautiful Lake Lure, before a return ride to McDowell County via the Assault on Mt. Mitchell route. The ride boasts 5,900’ of ascent and is a perfect training ride for either of the “Assault on Mt. Mitchell” rides. If this ride is a bit too much, choose the shorter ride around Marion. Registration is OPEN!
